How an Electric Bike Helped Me Get Fit Again

The future has come!!! This is the future we all had ever dreamt or heard about. With flying cars, touch screen phones, tiny cameras, smartwatches, face to face conference calls from anywhere high technology robots and high-end computer systems, we have entered a new realm of creativity and acknowledgement for all the great works. In the same era, we got to introduce ourselves to new types of gadgets and some of the latest vehicles that contain immense power and features.

This may seem like I am talking about some high tech, fully packed Ducati or a BMW off-road bike but no… I am before something else. Something that is sleek, silent, powerful and lightweight at the same time. Money efficient and saves time. Something that leaves behind nothing but a green footprint and a stylish approach in daily life. Something which is neither costly nor cheap but environment-friendly. Yes, you got that right. An electric bike is a vehicle I’ve been talking about.

I always wanted to have a bike as my own vehicle and did a lot of hard work to buy one. But as soon as my friend left his bike, over my house for a couple of days, while he was off to Kolkata, I got to learn that it was very hard to keep track of the money spent on the bike’s maintenance, fuel, servicing and regular check-up. I was sure to make proper use of it but it was hard for me to spend a quarter of my salary on the fuel for my bike. Also, the fuel smelled awful for it produced tons of smoke around the city. I realized that I was being a menace around the city and due to improper handling of the bike, I returned him his bike with the utmost disgust.

I was broken with the thought of not buying the bike I used to admire the most. But I was not to stop there. I got to read an article about some electric bike that was new in the market. I decided to go there to check it out for my personal needs. I was amazed by the features and the cost of the bike. It felt like a dream come true. This…. this runs on electricity!!!! It’s totally awesome. I mean that thing is going to be mine another week. So, the cost was not too high, the model was good too, power was also quite good, but the thing that was making me uneasy was the testing of something never ever tried.

The next week, I waited for approximately 2 hours before the delivery of the bike and finally, I was to ride it home. It was mixed feeling at first but after a couple of few minutes, I made myself comfortable with it. The first ride was extremely perfect and safe. The next day I charged my bike for my next ride and it was astonishing how fast it charged itself. Although I had a limitation of time, I reached my office before my usual time.

My boss often used to greet me (sarcastically) for reaching after he reaches, but this time, the ball was in my court. In the evening, after having a great day with my job and colleagues, I thought of checking out its benefits over a normal motorbike. Believe me or not, it was fascinating that a motorbike would be better than an electric bike, but my electric bike proved me wrong. It was actually better than the motorbike in terms of maintenance, fuel management, and safety. I was so amazed by the results that I called my friend and asked him to bring his bike along with him. I compared all the features a normal bike holds, with special emphasis on its power. It was a disappointing thing that my bike lacked 100s and 1000s of cc but I think, the environment is much more important than the power of a vehicle.

A couple of months later, I came to deal with a serious issue related to my bike. Actually, the bike was charging and discharging itself at a much faster rate than it usually does. I reported the problem at the service centre and Ta Daaaa!!! My bike was new again. The electric bike came with a warranty on the battery and hence the service centre got it replaced for me. This was the easiest job I could ever handle while having my own vehicle. All of the memories related to the electric bike till now has been the most efficient and enjoyable ones (except the traffic jams).

It has been three years since I bought my first electric bike after risking more than half of my salary on a new innovation that proved to be the most beneficial one till now. (Yes, I do not like my job)

After doing some research on electric bikes, I got to know that this venture is going to grow in the decade of 2020 due to the growth of pollution over the whole world. People will buy, rent and sell their electric bikes without any hesitation and it would be the new fashion. (#electricbike) This will not only help, decreasing the rate of money spent on the maintenance of the vehicles but also help the environment in regaining its proprietary beneficial features that are required to live, by all the living beings.

In order to conclude, I would recommend all the readers to please help the birds fly with their wings open wide, help the fishes swim freely without the fear of death, help the citizens breathe without any fear of pollution and help this country become a smart country by leaving the path of normal and switching to smart things. An electric bike is a part of the smart vehicle where you get access to pollution-free riding, no fuel consumption, in-built GPS availability, ABS-braking systems, fine-tuned engines and noise-free rides for your loved ones.…

What is functional Fitness

The name functional fitness itself says that these types of exercises are for functional benefits. This means that the exercises that trains the body for doing daily activities without any stress are called functional exercises and the fitness that we get through these functional exercises are known as functional fitness.

The functional exercises are meant for movement of our body joints and making them stronger for our day to day activities. In these types of exercises, you basically have to use your knees, elbows, shoulders and hips.

Example of functional Exercises

A squat is the best functional exercise. This is because we do squat at many times a day and use it. All of these comes under squat and we need our joints to be stronger to do so daily.

Increase in Balance and stability

Looking fit is not enough but how fit we live is of great consideration? You could have gone through a lot of situation in your life which would have decreased your stability. But it is necessary to eliminate all those things and start burning yourself in a gym and making yourself strong enough to face the outside world.

The example of exercise that increases our balance and stability for our daily life is lunge. This exercise is very easy to do and I think you must have done this many a times daily. Just go to your shelf and try to reach out to a box kept above the cabinet and walk out it with. You have done this exercise. Increase in Strength

Most of the functional exercise are meant to make your body stronger. The stronger your body is the less impact it has from daily activities. It is always said that if your foundation is stable then only you become stronger.

Most of us go to Gym to pump up our muscles and gain mass. But it is always necessary to go for functional exercises if you want to build strength rather than building your muscles. This is because, only by increasing your strength you can go for weights and isolate your muscles.

If you even look at your daily activities, you would find that you never use your biceps and triceps for your activities. Suppose you have to lift your bed or shovel you would not use your biceps of triceps, however you would use your core strength to lift it up, your back bends, your legs for pushing and your arms to lift it up.…

You must have heard somewhere that doing more reps with lighter weight can help you burn more fat. Stop! It’s not right. You should lift weight which should be a challenge for you but it should not be so much heavier which can cause other problems to your body.

Have food after every workout

After workout, food is very necessary. Our body gets exhausted and requires more energy to repair and growth of the muscle. Therefore, protein rich food would be a great choice to have after every exhaustive workout session.

But you must not only depend on the post workout meal as what you eat during whole day works as an important factor in weight loss.
